Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Leader that can support a small team of Cleaning and Decontamination staff who are responsible for the correct and effective reprocessing of all returned community equipment in line with the Decontamination Policy, Integrated Community Equipment Stores (ICES) Local Operating Procedure and Care Quality Commission (CQC) outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Allocate work, carry out spot checks and audits of equipment to ensure Quality Control (QC) standards are met, using the Local Operating Procedures and achieving CQC compliance.
  • Provide regular feedback to Swindon Community Equipment Stores (SCES) Operations Manager on targets and issues.
  • Ensure that all procedures relating to the Cleaning and Decontamination department are understood and followed, including identifying and providing training needs and ensuring department targets are met.
  • Dismantle community equipment for pre-cleaning inspection to ensure safety and economic viability before re-issue to service users.
  • Ensure clear separation and storage of dirty and clean storage areas/items, including housekeeping of all areas and accurate records are maintained.
  • Work alongside your team to clean warehouse facilities and to deliver or collect equipment to service users, remaining supportive when dealing with sensitive and difficult situations.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Knowledge of Infection Control and/or CQC outcomes in relation to this role, experience of stores procedures, including use of mechanical cleaning equipment and moving and handling of large items.
  • Ability to carry out risk assessments related to moving and handling and quality control aspects of work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers at all levels.
  • Fluency in English is required (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").
  • Ability to travel throughout the Borough and access to a car.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
