Job Summary
The Divisional Operational Manager is seeking an assistant to support the provision of services, ensuring the Trust achieves internal and national targets.
- Assist and support the Divisional Operational Manager in service provision.
- Work as part of the Division, managing day-to-day activities and interactions for specific programs.
- Support the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compassionate healthcare services.
- Provide expert decontamination advice to all teams across the Trust.
- Manage staff and resources within Decontamination Departments, ensuring efficient and high-quality services.
- Lead the implementation of audit recommendations related to decontamination and sterile services.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies for Sterile Services and decontamination.
Main Duties
- Provide ongoing technical and professional training to decontamination staff.
- Monitor, motivate, and support staff to fulfill mandatory training needs.
- Ensure compliance with technical decontamination standards (e.g., HTM 01-01, HTM 01-06).
- Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Carry out internal audits and prepare for external audits.
- Write, amend, and maintain QMS documents.
- Investigate and close out Q-safe incidents.
- Lead customer liaison and user groups, ensuring continual improvement.
- Communicate changes and developments to decontamination staff and user departments.
- Assist in business planning and service development.
- Provide effective management information using IT systems.

Job Responsibilities
- Carry out staff PDPs and support staff attendance, disciplinary, and grievance issues.
- Provide specialist decontamination advice to the Trust.
- Manage Health & Safety issues within decontamination areas.
- Accountable for the overall management of Decontamination Services.
- Provide a link between the Trust and the Trust's approved person (engineer) on decontamination matters.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
- Essential: Specialist decontamination training at team Leader/supervisory/management level.
- Desirable: Management/Supervisory training.
Experience and Knowledge
- Essential: Significant occupational experience within a decontamination role at a supervisory/management level, quality system management experience, and production/resource management experience.
Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
- Essential: Specialist knowledge of decontamination technical issues.
Behavioural Qualities
- Essential: Courteous and respectful, effective leadership qualities.
