The Decom Team are responsible for the safe, secure and efficient decommissioning of racks in accordance with high operating standards to ensure AWS can continue to deliver increased data center capacity and services for our customers. We are currently expanding our decommissioning team and are looking for a Decom Tech with an understanding of data center infrastructure operations.
AWS takes customer data with the utmost importance, and selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive tasks without variance and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The successful candidate will have experience with hardware components (HDD/SSD, RAM, CPU, PSU etc.), good written and verbal communication skills, and will be capable of working effectively in a team.


Key job responsibilities
•Decommissioning server racks safely and securely
• Handling and destroying media
• Auditing data center parts and maintaining accurate inventory
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
• Operating and maintaining decommissioning equipment
• Coordinating with team members
• Following and maintaining the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture
• Documenting procedures
• Travel Expectations: up to 20% between Thames Valley locations
