Job Overview:
We’re hiring a Temporary Deckhand to assist with dredging operations in Sheerness starting in August 2025. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous marine or dredging experience who’s looking for short-term work in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Key Duties:
Support dredging vessel operations and equipment handling
Assist with mooring, rigging, and general deck work
Maintain vessel cleanliness and readiness
Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Take direction from the skipper or dredge supervisor
Requirements:
Valid ENG1 Seafarer Medical Certificate (or equivalent)
STCW Basic Safety Training (or willingness to complete)
Previous experience as a deckhand, ideally in dredging or marine works
Comfortable with physical work in all weather conditions
Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player
Desirable (but not essential):
Dredging or marine construction experience
RYA Powerboat Level 2 or MCA Boatmaster Licence
Familiarity with marine plant and machinery
