Well known Scottish legal firm currently has an opportunity for an experienced Debt Recovery Paralegal to join our Debt and Asset Recovery Team based in Glasgow.

Their Debt & Asset Recovery team offers comprehensive services in all areas of commercial and consumer debt recovery, focusing on efficiency, quality, and reputation protection. They specialize in recovering debts, vehicles, and other assets for clients and the firm, utilizing a case management system and other procedures.

In this role, you will provide debt and asset recovery services for clients using our case management system and other processes. Responsibilities include raising court actions for recovery of money or goods, obtaining undefended decrees, and instructing diligence thereafter. A confident, personable, and understanding telephone manner is essential, along with the ability to build rapport with clients and third parties.

CORE TASKS

1. Liaising with clients regarding sums due and advising on options and costs.
2. Managing your own caseload using a case management system.
3. Maintaining regular contact with clients, customers, and third parties via telephone, email, and correspondence.
4. Dealing with undefended court actions in the sheriff court for recovery of money and/or assets through Simple Procedure, Summary Cause, and Ordinary actions as appropriate.
5. Instructing diligence, sheriff officers, other solicitors, investigation agents, and insolvency practitioners.
6. Preparing bankruptcy and liquidation petitions.
7. Handling administrative tasks related to debt recovery, including preparing fee notes, reports, statistics, and conflict checks.
8. Complying with the firm's time recording policy.
