Qualifications

• Qualified as a Legal Executive, or able to demonstrate relevant experience in debt recovery.
• Proven debt recovery experience within a law firm or legal practice environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident negotiation and relationship management.
• Understanding of commercial debt recovery processes and related legal procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of commercial debt recovery matters from instruction to conclusion.
• Advise clients on recovery options, including pre-action steps, court proceedings and enforcement.
• Negotiate with debtors and other parties to progress matters and achieve commercial outcomes.

Eventus Legal are seeking a Debt Recovery Legal Executive to join an established commercial law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent job position offering the opportunity to handle a varied caseload of commercial debt recovery matters for business clients. The position would suit an experienced legal debt recovery specialist who enjoys combining technical casework with client relationship management and contributing to the continued development of a successful practice. Role Responsibilities

This Debt Recovery Legal Executive position will involve handling a broad range of commercial debt recovery matters with a practical and commercially focused approach. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of commercial debt recovery matters for business clients from initial instruction through to conclusion
• Advising clients on appropriate recovery options, including pre-action correspondence, court proceedings and enforcement where required
• Negotiating with debtors and other parties to progress matters and achieve commercially appropriate outcomes for clients
• Preparing and progressing the documentation required throughout the debt recovery and litigation process
• Building strong client relationships and providing clear, practical updates and advice throughout each matter
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to the development of the debt recovery practice
• Maintaining accurate files and ensuring matters are handled in accordance with relevant legal and professional requirements
• Working independently on your own caseload while collaborating with colleagues across the wider team

Person Specification

Applications are invited from qualified Chartered Legal Executives with proven debt recovery experience gained within a law firm or other legal practice environment. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Qualified as a Legal Executive, or able to demonstrate relevant experience within legal debt recovery.
• Proven experience handling debt recovery matters within the legal sector
• A sound understanding of the legal processes and procedures involved in commercial debt recovery
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident negotiation and client liaison
• A commercially aware approach with the ability to provide practical and proportionate advice
• Strong organisation and attention to detail when managing a busy caseload
• Confidence using legal case management systems and relevant technology
• The ability to work independently, manage priorities and contribute positively within a wider legal team
• An interest in developing client relationships and supporting appropriate business development activity
• A proactive, professional and client-focused approach
