Job Title: Debt Collection and Recovery Business Analyst
Location: Knutsford (Fully On-Site)
Salary/Rate: £300 Inside IR35
Start Date: 25/08/2025 - 31/12/2025

About the role:

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support and enhance the effectiveness of debt collection and recovery strategies for a leading financial institution. This role sits within the Collections Risk team, focusing on unsecured credit products, and will play a key part in driving analytical insight, regulatory compliance, and risk governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse performance data to support the development and optimisation of credit risk strategies across Collections and Recoveries (C&R).

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of end-to-end minimum risk requirements, from pre-arrears to forbearance.

• Deliver independent second-line risk oversight for collection operations, ensuring alignment with Group Policies and regulatory standards.

• Support governance across Risk, Product, and Operations - attending key forums to ensure a strong risk framework is embedded.

• Assist in evaluating operational controls to ensure effectiveness and adherence to minimum risk requirements.

• Help identify and escalate emerging risks or issues to senior stakeholders.

• Provide oversight of operational capacity planning and its alignment with strategic objectives.

• Drive improvements in segmentation strategies and the design of remedial tools for customers in financial difficulty.

• Ensure appropriate reporting on forbearance and compliance with regulatory classifications.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within financial services, particularly in collections, recoveries, or credit risk.

• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to influence strategic decisions.

• Solid understanding of unsecured credit products and associated customer treatment strategies.

• Familiarity with regulatory standards and governance frameworks (e.g., second line of defence).

• Experience working across Risk, Product, and Operations functions.

• Ability to challenge processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Comfortable working with large data sets and management information (MI) to derive insights.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
