Job description

About the role:

The Deals Tax Management Team Advisory Group is a specialist tax team that advises on the tax and commercial issues related to the design, implementation, and operation of management and employee incentives, either on the sale or acquisition of a business or when new incentives are required.

Our clients are predominantly top and mid-tier investors in the Private Equity ("PE") market or the board-level C-suite of PE-backed portfolio companies.

What your days will look like:
  1. Being part of a team assisting on projects involving both UK and global tax advice before, during, or after transactions, which may include:
  • Advising management/PE investors on the implementation of a Management Incentive Plan (MIP) during and post-transaction, equity resets, joiners/leavers events mid-cycle, etc.
  • Preparation for exits such as sales to new PE investors/trade buyers or float processes, including tax due diligence.
  • Working with a team on demanding, fast-paced projects, delivering bespoke technical advice, communicating complex issues effectively, and encouraging coaching within the team.
  • Assisting with developing relationships with clients, internal markets, key external intermediaries, and junior team members.
  • Supporting business development activities by helping identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients, including proposals and networking events.
This role is for you if you have:
  • An ACA/CTA qualification (or an international equivalent) or equivalent work experience. International candidates qualifying through experience are also considered.
  • Knowledge of management incentive plans, especially those implemented in the PE industry.
  • Experience and enjoyment of working in a Deals environment.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in negotiating and influencing others.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and report writing skills.
  • An inquisitive mind and the ability to solve problems as part of a diverse team.
What you'll receive from us:

Our benefits are designed to support and add value to your career and personal life, recognizing and rewarding your contributions. We offer flexibility, a mix of office, home, and client site work, private medical cover, 24/7 virtual GP access, six volunteering days annually, and more.
