Dealership Accountant

Pembrook Resourcing is currently recruiting on behalf of their client, a dealership group, for a dealership accountant to join their team.

Dealership Accountant Responsibilities
  • Safeguard the company's assets by ensuring the Accounts and Sales Administration teams are competent, understand their responsibilities, and follow the procedures and guidelines set by the Group.
  • Work as part of the senior management team to develop strategies, plans, and actions to achieve industry-leading profitability.
  • Lead and motivate the Accounts and Sales Administration teams.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts.
  • Prepare and submit manufacturer composites to a high standard.
  • Support the Head of Business and Departmental Managers weekly to prepare the DOC forecast for Directors.
  • Control and review working capital regularly, ensuring compliance with Group guidelines, with monthly reviews with the Head of Business.
  • Review and approve the monthly payment run for the Profit & Loss and Salaries.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets with the Group Financial Controller.
  • Maintain and administer the DMS system (CDK Drive).
  • Support the Group Payroll Administrator as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Prepare P11D and other statutory returns for review.
  • Manage audit preparation and the annual audit process.
Dealership Accountant Requirements
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct the Accounts and Sales Administration teams.
  • Highly competent, preferably a qualified accountant.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, identify waste, reduce costs, and improve performance.
  • Ability to influence and command respect from the Senior Management Team to support the company's profitability goals.
