Job summary

Royal Cross Primary School in Ashton-on-ribble, Preston, seeks a Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Deaf Role Model to join our specialist school for deaf children. The successful candidate will support pupils within a total communication approach and help develop language and communication plans.

Applicants should have NVQ3 or above, Level 2 English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy, and BSL Level 2. The role is term-time plus 5 training days, 32.5 hours weekly, 8:30am–3:30pm, with pro-rata pay for

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or above, or equivalent.
• Level 2 or equivalent in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
• BSL Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Deaf role models and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Contribute to language and communication plans within a total communication approach.
• Assist in fostering language development and positive Deaf identity among pupils.
