Job summary

Greenshaw Learning Trust's Yate Academy is seeking a committed Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our safeguarding team. You will support pupils, families and staff while upholding our high safeguarding standards and promoting a positive learning environment.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the school, attend multi‑agency meetings, and contribute to attendance and welfare initiatives to ensure every student thrives in a safe, supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is desirable.
• Experience safeguarding/pastoral support with young people.
• Understanding safeguarding and attendance policies and their implementation.
• Experience working in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils and families and ensure safeguarding of every student.
• Lead/participate in EHAP and other multi-agency meetings as directed by the DSL.
• Support attendance initiatives and liaise with attendance officers as needed.
• Provide pastoral care and mentoring to students and liaise with SENCos.
