Job summary

Yate Academy, part of Greenshaw Learning Trust, seeks a committed DDSL to support safeguarding, attendance, and welfare across the school community. You will work with pupils, families and staff to ensure safety and wellbeing, lead multi-agency involvement, and contribute to a positive environment where learners can thrive.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, EHAP and attendance related duties, with focus on timely interventions and child protection protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Desirable).
• Experience in safeguarding/pastoral support or relevant work with young people.
• Understanding of safeguarding and attendance policies and their implementation.
• Experience of supporting vulnerable children and awareness of relevant legislation.
• Experience of working in a school environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively including report writing and presentation of findings.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils and families and ensure safety and wellbeing of students.
• Act as Lead Professional in EHAP meetings and multi-agency meetings.
• Chair attendance meetings and manage attendance improvement targets with parents.
• Develop IHCPs and coordinate transport and welfare visits as needed.
• Promote positive behaviour and support SLT in managing behaviours.
