Wolviston Management Services Limited is recruiting for a DCS Engineer at the Greatham, Hartlepool facility. You will maintain and develop DCS/PLC systems within a 24/7 process environment, ensuring cyber security and compliance while supporting continuous improvement projects.

The role involves routine maintenance, code changes, performance analysis and out-of-hours support as required, reporting to the Process Automation Manager.

Formación

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in a control-system environment, ideally in 24/7 chemical or process manufacturing.
• Strong experience in DCS and PLC process automation.
• Knowledge of firewalls, network management and software programming languages.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• Commitment to technical standards, compliance and safe working.

Responsabilidades

• Carrying out routine maintenance on on-site DCS and PLC systems, including backups and housekeeping.
• Developing and implementing DCS code changes with robust testing before go-live.
• Analyzing DCS performance data and monitoring control-system security and availability.
• Preparing control-system KPIs and routine performance reports.
• Developing/modifying sequences, alarms and reports per user requirements.
• Testing system upgrades for compatibility and performance.
• Coordinating the control-system Management of Change process.

DCS Engineer
Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of Tioxide Materials Ltd for an experienced DCS Engineer to join the Site Engineering team at their manufacturing facility in Greatham, Hartlepool.

This is a specialist control systems role supporting the safe, reliable and effective operation of the site's DCS and PLC systems. Reporting to the Process Automation Manager, you will combine routine system maintenance and breakdown support with continuous improvement and the implementation of control-system changes arising from capital projects and technical improvement programmes.

The Role

Working within a 24/7 process manufacturing environment, you will take responsibility for maintaining, monitoring and improving critical control-system infrastructure while ensuring all work complies with site cyber security, EHS and corporate requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine maintenance on site DCS and PLC systems, including data backups, hardware condition monitoring, file housekeeping and user-interface equipment renewals.
• Developing and implementing DCS code changes, ensuring modifications are robustly tested before being made live.
• Analysing DCS performance data, investigating anomalies and monitoring control-system security and availability.
• Preparing control-system KPIs and routine performance reports.
• Developing and modifying sequences, alarms and reports in line with user requirements.
• Testing system upgrades to ensure compatibility and satisfactory performance with existing systems.
• Coordinating the control-system Management of Change process.
• Supporting the implementation of the site's control-system improvement plan.
• Providing breakdown support to control-system users, including a degree of out-of-hours support. DCS Engineer

About You

We are looking for an experienced control-systems professional with a strong background in DCS, PLC and process automation.
You will ideally have:

• A degree in Engineering, Advanced Process Control or a related discipline, or an equivalent vocational qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience within a control-system environment, ideally supporting a 24/7 chemical or process-manufacturing operation.
• Strong experience in DCS and PLC process automation.
• Knowledge of firewalls, network management and software programming languages.
• The ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
• A strong commitment to technical standards, compliance and safe working.

Experience specifically with MOD300 and/or DeltaV control systems would be particularly advantageous.
