DCS Engineer – London, UK
Key responsibilities and main tasks:• Implement engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services to ensure conformity with sound engineering practice and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure all Project HSE requirements are adhered to and implemented. Emphasize HSE throughout all design activities. Play an active role in developing the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
• Ensure implementation of the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) for the facility, integrating principal control systems such as Process Control System (PCS), Safety Instrumented System (SIS), Fire and Gas Detection System (FGDS), Subsea Control System (SCS), Electrical Monitoring and Control System (EMCS), Equipment Monitoring System (EMS), Marine Environmental Monitoring System (MEMS).
• Coordinate interfaces between plant and subsea, working with Onshore and Subsea contractors for proper interface implementation.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for DCS/ESD/F&G systems.
• Attend P&ID reviews, HAZOP, and other safety review meetings.
• Collaborate with Contractor DCS Engineering site leads to ensure coordinated efforts and resolve issues.
• Identify opportunities and risks related to DCS design and operation, working with Process Safety to ensure safeguards are in place for a safe working environment.
• Oversee and coordinate contractor planning and execution activities, focusing on Instrumentation engineering but also understanding multidisciplinary engineering and procurement.
• Support the Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer in ensuring compliance with the DCS technical aspects of the EPC contract during execution.
• During site activities, respond promptly to site queries and technical issues, oversee punch list rectifications, and supervise erection and testing of equipment.
The experience shall include:• Degree in appropriate Engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent registration preferred.
• Proficiency in English.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in Oil and Gas and large projects.
• Supervisory experience in plant and project engineering with increasing responsibilities.
