Our client is a major UK-headquartered global law firm, with a longstanding reputation across all its markets.

The firm’s London Structured Finance and Derivatives team is part of their international Structured Finance practice, serving a client base of financial institutions, including investment banks, insurance companies, asset and investment managers, trustees, and pension schemes.

The team seeks an ambitious Associate to work closely with Partners and engage directly with clients. Associates are expected to handle responsibilities across a variety of issues, contributing to the delivery of excellent client service.

The role offers challenging work, including:

  • Securitised derivatives and structured products
  • Repackagings
  • Repos
  • Stock lending
  • Strategic equity financings
  • Debt capital markets transactions

The team values entrepreneurial and flexible professionals. They seek a bright, proactive lawyer eager to learn, develop, and contribute to high-quality work for clients.

To succeed, candidates should be ambitious and talented derivatives, structured finance, and/or debt capital markets lawyers, ideally with experience from the London market. While experience in all product areas is not mandatory, the ability to learn and adapt existing skills to new product areas is essential.

Minimum requirements include:

  • A qualified lawyer with 1-5 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating derivatives and structured finance documentation
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Excellent drafting skills and the ability to translate legal theory into practical advice
  • Sound judgment, good interpersonal and consultancy skills
  • Excellent presentation and marketing skills
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and eagerness to work across diverse projects and clients
