Job description

We’re recruiting for a DC Business Development Manager to join our award-winning DC team. You will be responsible for maximizing the acquisition of profitable new DC business through developing strategic and transactional relationships within designated Employee Benefit and corporate adviser intermediary partnerships. Your goal will be to maximize product/proposition panelling, marketing, and wider sales and development opportunities to meet L&G Asset Management's targets.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining personal relationships with key individuals within allocated intermediary accounts, facilitating the further embedding of L&G Asset Management's footprint by ensuring connections with the LGIM Distribution senior management team.
  • Developing and implementing a progressive business plan for each intermediary, maximizing opportunities, collaborating with Product & Pricing teams to achieve market-leading positions, optimizing new business, and retaining existing business while liaising with Asset Management, Insurance, and Retirement divisions to leverage additional growth opportunities.
  • Acting as the single first point of contact for each account in England & Wales, managing all activities and operational issues, and directing internal teams for timely progress and resolution.
  • Leading intermediary research meetings, managing new business opportunities, maximizing sales penetration, and leading negotiations by understanding the client’s culture and requirements, presenting profitable, value-adding solutions, initiatives, and services.
  • Keeping the DC Distribution leadership team informed of significant market changes, competitor activity, and sales trends, using insights to defend or enhance Asset Management's position.
  • Maintaining industry and marketplace knowledge, staying abreast of strategic developments, discussing relevant topics knowledgeably, and representing L&G at conferences and forums to promote the DC brand.
  • Ensuring communications are clear, tailored to customer characteristics, including vulnerable clients, and seeking feedback to support management information on customer harm indicators, taking appropriate actions.
