The Headteacher and Governors of Redesdale Primary School are delighted to offer this fantastic opportunity to invite suitably qualified and highly motivated candidates to apply for the post of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) commencing September 2025. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic, and forward-thinking practitioner to join our dedicated team of staff, who are committed to raising the aspirations and outcomes for all our children.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an excellent practitioner with high expectations of themselves and the children.
- Has a passion for creating an innovative and imaginative classroom ethos, supporting a child-centred curriculum, and learning environment.
- Has successful experience of planning, teaching, and assessing within EYFS, Key Stage 1 and / or Key Stage 2, including high quality phonics sessions (Read, Write Inc).
- Works well as part of a team and is willing to contribute to all aspects of school life.
- Can inspire children to learn in new and exciting ways.
- Is passionate about enabling good progress for every child.
- Is an effective communicator and keen to work in collaboration with the school community.

The post will involve delivering interventions and full classroom cover of PPA etc across the whole school, whilst establishing productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, and setting high expectations. As part of the wider team, your role will involve planning and delivering strategic intervention activities, either for individuals, or smaller groups. Suitable experience and current knowledge of SEND within a primary setting would be advantageous.

Redesdale Primary School is part of the wider North Tyneside Learning Trust (NTLT) group of 45 schools.
This post is permanent, 35 hours per week, term time only, over 195 days.
The normal weekly working pattern will be Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm daily.
