Job summary

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking a part-time care worker to support the team in delivering person-centred care to residents. You will assist with personal care, activities and domestic tasks, following individual care plans and maintaining high standards of infection control.

The role requires flexibility for shifts including weekends, ability to work independently or in a team, and PVG membership for working with adults.

Qualifications

• Good general education.
• Understanding the needs of older people and dementia.
• Knowledge of moving and handling in a residential care home.
• Awareness of policies and procedures.
• PVG membership requirement for working with adults.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Commitment to equality and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with person-centred care planning for named individuals.
• Contribute to activities and personal tasks that are meaningful.
• Follow care plans and record outcomes in each care plan.
• Provide personal care and some domestic support to residents, including shift work and weekends.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as showering and hygiene.
• Maintain infection control and a tidy, safe environment.
• Support communication with family and friends.
• Assist with preparation of drinks and snacks.
