Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring efficient shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining the overall functionality of the warehouse. This role is crucial in optimising business processes and ensuring that materials are handled safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy in order fulfilment and inventory management.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems to streamline operations.
  • Coordinate materials handling procedures to ensure safe and efficient movement of goods.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimise supply chain processes.
  • Utilise in house systems for inventory tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on equipment operation, including forklift usage, as well as best practices in warehouse management.

Skills

  • Proven experience in team management within a warehouse setting.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including documentation requirements.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and materials handling techniques.
  • Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently as part of daily operations.
  • Understanding of business processes related to logistics and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in using AS400 or similar inventory management software.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers is advantageous.
  • Forklift certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
