Job summary

Lighthouse Care is hiring a Mental Health Support Worker (Days) in Prescot. This full-time/bank role offers 8:00am–8:00pm shifts and an immediate start. You will support residents during the day, helping with safety, wellbeing and progress toward personal goals.

We value candidates with experience in complex mental health needs, dual diagnosis, safeguarding, and a compassionate, person-centred approach. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience supporting adults with complex mental health needs and/or substance misuse.
• Experience working with dual diagnosis.
• Ability to support individuals who may present behaviours that challenge.
• Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and recovery-focused support.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations.
• A caring, empathetic, and person-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Support residents throughout the day to ensure safety, wellbeing and progress towards individual goals.
• Build positive and therapeutic relationships with residents and provide person-centred support.
• Maintain accurate records and respond professionally to situations during shifts.
