Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Based in Derby with occasional travel to a nearby site (once a week, one day only, door-to-door pay, no overnight stays)
Monday to Friday | 07:30 to 16:00
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
Company van + fuel card (business use only)
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Pension options: 3%/6%, 4%/8%, or 5%/10% (employee/employer contribution)

Join Us as a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)

We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Derby. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical expertise, particularly with pumps and valves. A basic understanding of electrical systems is an advantage, but solid mechanical experience is essential.

You'll also travel once a week to a nearby site (no overnight stays), with all travel paid door to door.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance with the production team and contractors.

Maintain, repair and replace mechanical components, with a focus on pumps and valves.

Complete daily, weekly and monthly equipment inspections and log them using the maintenance system.

Identify and report any safety or production-related issues.

Help manage spare parts stock and ensure statutory inspections are kept up to date.

Provide maintenance data and reports to support capital expenditure planning.

Assist with upgrades and improvements alongside the wider engineering team.

Follow site safety and quality procedures, and participate in safety walkarounds.

Supervise and manage contractors on-site as needed.

What We're Looking For

Proven mechanical maintenance experience, especially with pumps and valves.

Basic electrical skills are a plus.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, "can-do" approach.

Full UK driving licence (clean - licence checks required).

Comfortable using maintenance planning systems and following safety procedures.
