Job summary

Ocado Logistics is hiring Warehouse Operatives for Purfleet's fulfilment centre. You’ll help prepare customer orders across multiple departments with a supportive roster and upfront planning. Training and safety briefings are provided, and there is room to grow within the company.

Applicants must be 18 or older, able to travel to Purfleet reliably, and capable of handling physical tasks including lifting. Prior warehouse experience is not required, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• No warehouse experience required.
• You must be 18 or over.
• Must be able to travel to Purfleet site reliably for scheduled shifts.
• Able to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inbound: receive goods from suppliers and place into totes for robots and picking teams.
• Pick: pick and pack customer orders into totes with care and accuracy using technology and robotics.
• Despatch: load totes into delivery frames for dispatch and organise returned totes; physical lifting involved.

As a Warehouse Operative with Ocado Logistics, you'll play a vital role in preparing customer orders at our state-of-the-art fulfilment centre in Purfleet. With a variety of departments and shift options available, our core roster helps you plan your work-life balance with confidence. You'll receive your work pattern 6 to 13 weeks in advance, giving you plenty of time to plan with family and friends.

What We're Looking For

• No warehouse experience is needed. Just bring a positive attitude and we'll support you every step of the way.
• You must be 18 or over.
• You must be able to handle meat and alcohol.
• You must be able to travel to and from the Purfleet site reliably for your scheduled shifts.
• For your safety and the safety of others, you must be able to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.

Available Roles

• Inbound - 06:00 to 16:00, 4 days per week as per roster
  Receive goods from suppliers and place them into totes ready for our robots and picking teams. You'll help ensure stock is available and ready for customer orders.
• Pick - 06:00 to 16:00, 4 days per week as per roster
  Pick and pack customer orders into shopping totes with care and accuracy. Our technology and robotics help support the process, making it an exciting and fast-paced environment.
• Despatch - 06:00 to 17:00, 4 days per week as per roster
  Load customer totes into delivery frames ready for dispatch and organise returned totes from delivery routes. This is an active and physical role involving regular lifting and moving of goods.

Pay & Premiums

• Basic rate: £12.93 per hour
• Night-shift premium between midnight and 06:00: an additional £2.94 per hour
• Overtime paid at 1.25x the basic rate
