Job summary

Ocado Logistics in Purfleet is seeking a Days Freezer Warehouse Operative to join a high-performing team in a freezer environment at temperatures as low as -25°C. You’ll be provided with full thermal gear and be part of a close-knit operation.

You will work 4 shifts in a 7-day period, with Day and Night options, and benefit from progression routes, healthcare, pension, staff discounts and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• No warehouse experience required.
• You must be 18 or over.
• Able to handle Meat and Alcohol.
• Must understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.
• Must reside within reasonable commute time from site.

Responsibilities

• Work four shifts in every 7-day period, including weekends.
• Shifts: Day 6:00 AM–3:00 PM or Night 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.
• Operate in a freezer environment at temperatures as low as -25°C with protective gear.
• Follow safety and operational instructions at all times.

Job Description

As a Freezer Warehouse Operative, you'll be part of a specialist team working in a high-performing freezer environment at temperatures as low as -25°C. Your safety and comfort come first, and we provide full thermal protective gear to keep you warm throughout your shift. What We're Looking For

• No Warehouse experience needed - just bring a positive attitude.
• You must be 18 or over.
• You must be able to handle Meat and Alcohol.
• You must be within reasonable commute time from the site using your method of transport.
• For your safety and the safety of others, you must be able to understand and follow Health & Safety briefings and operational instructions.

Available Day Roles

(You will work 4 shifts in every 7-day period. Shifts are spread across the full week, including weekends)

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM (4 days on, 3 days off)
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (4 nights on, 3 nights off)

Pay & Premiums

• Starting salary: £12.84 per hour (base pay shown - freezer premium added separately)
• Freezer premium + £1.00 per hour
• Night shift premium: + £2.67 per hour (12 am - 6 am)
• Overtime paid at 1.25x basic rate.
• Core Roster: Know your work schedule 13 weeks in advance, helping you plan life outside of work
• Additional earning potential is available through our target-based incentive scheme, with higher performers receiving additional hourly premiums
