Job summary

Poplars AD Plant in Cannock (WS11 8NQ) is hiring a Day Shift Fitter to maintain our anaerobic digestion facility safely, efficiently and reliably. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will deliver planned and reactive maintenance across the plant and support installation work.

The role requires at least 2 years' fitter experience in a fast‑paced process environment. You will work days, 37.5 hours weekly, with a strong focus on safety, uptime and continuous improvement, in collaboration with

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Fitter role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced process/manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance principles.
• Ability to prioritise and respond to breakdowns.
• Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across the plant.
• Diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs.
• Support installation work and equipment improvements.
• Drive plant reliability, uptime and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with operations teams to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate specialist maintenance activities with contractors.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes and root cause analysis.
