Job summary

A growing food production business in Bourne is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a stable day shift role (Sunday to Thursday). You will respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and work on both mechanical and electrical systems. Previous experience in maintenance is preferred. This role offers a clean environment and modern equipment in a supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on safety and reliability.

The Opportunity

You'll be a key part of the site engineering team, helping keep production lines running efficiently. The site is well-invested, uses a mix of automation and traditional machinery, and supplies major UK customers with fresh, high-quality products.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responding to breakdowns and keeping downtime to a minimum
  • Carrying out routine preventative maintenance across production equipment
  • Working on mechanical and electrical systems including conveyors, packaging machinery, and basic automation
  • Supporting site projects and ongoing improvements to plant efficiency
  • Communicating clearly with production and technical teams

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role (ideally within manufacturing or FMCG)
  • A hands-on approach and strong fault-finding skills
  • Comfortable working across both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on safety and reliability
  • Engineering qualifications are a bonus, but not essential - experience matters most
