Job description

Location:Swansea, MA
Hours:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM; Wednesday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary:$27.32 to $28.30 / hour, based on qualifications and experience; + $2,000 / year for verified, bilingual fluency in English and Spanish

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable team player to serve asDay Shift Coordinatorwithin the Stevens School. This full-time role is central to the daily operations of our on-campus school, supporting classroom needs, helping manage student behavior, and promoting smooth transitions throughout the day.

The Day Shift Coordinator is a visible, supportive presence across the school day—offering behavioral support to staff and youth, monitoring program coverage and logistics, and helping to foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. This is an ideal position for someone with strong interpersonal skills who thrives in a fast-paced, youth-centered setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Behavioral & Crisis Support:Serve as a key resource for in-the-moment behavioral support and de-escalation; model trauma-informed approaches to youth and staff.
  • Daily Coverage & Supervision:Monitor staffing needs, student transitions, and classroom dynamics; adjust coverage and provide hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Program Operations: Maintain scheduling systems, oversee student transitions, coordinate logistics for appointments and events, and help implement special programming.
  • Communication & Documentation:Ensure accurate, timely documentation of behavior and incidents; attend shift change meetings to share updates with residential teams.
  • Team Collaboration:Work closely with education, clinical, and residential staff to support behavior planning, staff coaching, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience working with adolescents in a residential, school, or related setting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive during crisis situations
  • Comfort working flexibly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Safety-Care, CPR/First Aid, and MAP certification
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
