Job summary

Macklin Care Homes is recruiting Care Assistants for our Nursing Unit (Day shift) in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. You will support the nursing team with daily living activities and provide person-centred care to residents, in line with standards and the Patient Charter of Rights.

The ideal candidate will have strong English, be flexible, and work well under pressure. NVQ in care and UK eligibility are advantageous; enhanced DBS may apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with the elderly.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Flexible to meet the needs of the organisation.
• Be in good general medical health.
• NVQ in care is preferred.
• Knowledge of Care of the Elderly Citizens Charter is a plus.
• Experience in a caring environment is desirable.
• Moving and handling patients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating and mobility.
• Delivering patient-centred care of high quality.
• Enriching residents' lives through activities.
• Updating and maintaining records in line with patient care.
• Supporting the nursing team with policies and procedures.
• Fully flexible to provide one-to-one care when required.
