A leading dementia charity in Edinburgh seeks a Care Support Worker to aid individuals living with dementia. Responsibilities include supporting client outcomes and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications, alongside a driving license. What you’ll do
At present, there are an estimated 8,464 citizens living with dementia in Edinburgh. Around 300 of these people areunder the age of 65 years old.

Supporting individuals to achieve good outcomes, to keep connected to their communities, engage in their interestsand hobbies and access peer support, using your own car to help people get around (mileage and expenses arepaid).
Working as part of the Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections team you will have responsibilityfor ensuring that services are of the highest quality and meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for uniquetherapeutic, highly person-centred support.
You will work with the wider team and Day Services Manager to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality,person-centred, therapeutic Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections, ensuring practicecomplies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will contribute to evidencing, reviewing and continuallyimproving the quality of the services and will participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorateinspections.
You may operate within a building-based Day Care or as part of a Community Connection team delivering CommunityGroups and Outreach services across an allocated area. At times, this will involve working without supervisionin the absence of the Day Services Manager.
You will work with the wider team to evidence that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’sHealth and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate whererelevant. This includes ensuring that the activities and support offered meet the identified personal outcomesof those attending the services.
What you’ll have
The successful candidate will have a good understanding and/or experience of working with or supporting people livingwith dementia and their families. This will include an understanding of the benefit of high quality, evidencebased therapeutic activity, ongoing evaluation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the CareInspectorate and their role in registered services.
Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment and Brain Health and experience of working with orsupporting people living with dementia and their families.
The successful candidate will have a recognised professional qualification in health, social work or related field,to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2)
This post requires a full driving licence and access to a car.
The successful candidate for this post will be required to provide proof of right to work in the UK and will also besubject to a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland.

About the Role
The role of National Advice and Support Service Manager is instrumental in ensuring that the service we provide topeople is consistent, accessible and of high-quality. This role will oversee all operational aspects of theservice including leading and coaching the Advice and Support Team to deliver a flexible and person-centredservice, and providing welfare rights and debt advice expertise and management oversight of complex casemanagement. The National Advice and Support Service Manager will also ensure the team’s performance meets alllegal and regulatory requirements, including the standards set out by the Financial Conduct Authority and theScottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers, and will build-in quality controls and checksaround this including creating and maintaining policies and procedures to allow for the efficient, compliant andsafe running of the service.
As well as having responsibility for the operational delivery of the service, this role will also influence and shapethe strategic direction of the Advice and Support Service. This will involve working with the Head of NationalServices to plan and develop a strategic plan for the service and play a key role in communicating this visionboth internally and externally, as well as actively promoting the service. The National Advice and SupportService Manager will also develop strategic partnerships, including working with MHUK, and communicateopportunities to work with partners and colleagues from across the organisation.
Establishing effective structures and systems to collect data and track outcome progress will be a centralresponsibility of the National Advice and Support Service Manager. The postholder will be skilled in dataanalysis and regularly produce reports that clearly demonstrate impact to a variety of stakeholders
