Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support people in your local community?

We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding care quality for adults with learning disabilities.

We are recruiting a Day Service Assistant to join our team at our Specialist Day Opportunities in Lichfield. This service supports adults with complex learning disabilities and autism by providing meaningful activities and opportunities. We pride ourselves on offering a person-centred service that promotes wellbeing and independence.

We have 1 part-time position available, working 35 hours per week. The working hours are as follows:

Monday to Friday, supporting between 8am - 3pm or 9am - 4pm, depending on service needs.

We are a flexible employer and will consider various working patterns to accommodate your availability.

Induction, supervision, and full training will be provided.

Main Responsibilities

We offer diverse work experiences, with no day being the same. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with personal care (dressing, showering, etc.)
  • Supporting with moving and handling needs
  • Supporting with eating and drinking
  • Administering medication
  • Supporting individuals to access their community safely
  • Running activities and sensory sessions in our centres
  • Carrying out manual handling tasks to support clients in their daily lives
The Ideal Candidate

What you will bring

  • A caring, sensitive, and patient attitude towards vulnerable people
  • Willingness and physical ability to support with personal and intimate care, including manual handling

What you will have

  • A caring nature
  • Experience working in a team
  • Practical knowledge of health and safety related to vehicles and transportation
  • Effective communication skills

This role requires a pre-employment health assessment and an enhanced DBS check as part of the onboarding process.
