A leading transport company is seeking a Day Fitter to support vehicle maintenance at their Workington depot. The role involves ensuring that a diverse fleet is well-maintained, providing excellent service to the community. Candidates should have relevant engineering experience and a passion for teamwork. The company offers extensive training, job security, and a range of benefits, including free bus travel and opportunities for career growth.
Please confirm that you are happy to continue on this basis.
We're looking for a Day Fitter to join our team here in Workington, looking after the fleet within our award winning Cumbria & North Lancashire Operating Company.
If that sounds like something you want to be involved in, we’d love to have you on board – and we’ll give you all the training and development you need to get to where you want to go!
Our Workington depot operates a varied range of vehicles from single deckers to double deckers. We operate vehicles from manufacturers such as Scania, Optare, Mercedes, MAN and Alexander Dennis.
You’ve probably seen some of our vehicles driving around Cumbria, transporting our fantastic customers around the area. Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out – and as part of our engineering team you’ll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that. It’s a really important role within our garage, so we’ll make sure you’re as looked after as our vehicles are!
You'll be set in good stead, currently possessing qualifications and experience – however, we’ll train you on everything else you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of fellow Mechanics, Technicians, Stores people, Administrators and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.
And interestingly it’s not all garage-based work – you could well find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won’t always be the same four walls you’re looking at! A side from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there’s plenty more we can offer:
So, if you have an engineering background with a vehicular slant (truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm – if it moves, it’s good experience for working on buses) and have a passion for great work with a great team, then we can’t wait to receive your application!
Stagecoach workplace culture is one where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences our people bring to the business are celebrated. We welcome applications from all, irrespective of background, gender, ethnicity, race, religion, beliefs, disability, neurodiversity, sexual orientation or age.
