Job summary

Stagecoach West Ham Garage in London is seeking a vehicle technician to maintain and repair our fleet of buses, including electric models, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in vehicle maintenance, preferably buses or heavy vehicles.
• Willingness to learn about electric buses and receive training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the fleet of buses across London.
• Diagnose faults on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Work with a team of technicians and managers to ensure safety and reliability.
• Occasional on-road fault-finding and roadside call-outs.

You've probably seen some of our vehicles driving around East London, transporting our fantastic customers around the area.

Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out - and as part of our engineering team you'll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that. It's a really important role within our depot, so we'll make sure you're as looked after as our vehicles are!

You'll have the responsibility of maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses which we operate across London. Our buses include double deckers and single deckers as well as some new Electric buses which are now in service with us.

Don't worry if you've not worked on these vehicles before (or indeed buses) - we'll train you on everything you need to know, and you'll be supported by a great team of fellow Electricians, Mechanics, Technicians, Storespeople, Administrators and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

And it's not all garage-based work. You could find yourself out and about dealing with vehicle issues on the road, so it won't always be the same four walls you're looking at!

You don't have to come from a bus background (but we wouldn't be put off if you did either!), but you will need to have worked in a engineering technician field - truck, haulage, automotive, plant, rail, farm - if it moves, it's good experience for working on buses!
