Position: Day Engineering Technician - Electrical Bias (Mechanical considered)

Location: Kenfig Industrial Estate near Port Talbot, UK

Salary: £38-41k depending on experience

Own transport required; site is not near major transport links.

Must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Educated to HNC/HND in electrical discipline
• Experience in manufacturing environments with knowledge of PLC and electrical systems
• Focus on H&S, Quality, Customer, and Productivity
• Self-motivated, reliable, hardworking, flexible

Responsibilities

Summary: Provide technical support for machine maintenance and breakdowns, supporting the Engineering Manager to maximize plant efficiency. The role involves working in a 24/7 operation as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety, operational, and quality standards are met
• Plan and implement machine modifications to improve OEE
• Support machine maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Assist in procurement of engineering parts
• Work with PLCs and drives
• Plan major overhauls and upgrades
• Schedule vendors and ensure compliance with H&S policies
• Recommend preventive maintenance
• Support continuous improvement and fault analysis
• Support plant efficiency and uptime
• Participate in on-call support
• Coordinate with external suppliers
• Contribute to improvement plans
• Undertake training and adapt to evolving requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
