Job summary

A leading staffing agency in Northern Ireland is seeking experienced Support Workers for immediate contracts. The role involves providing assistance within services for Older People, Dementia, or Adult Physical Disability in a day centre environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide daily assistance to the management team within a Day Centre environment.
  • Interact and develop caring & professional relationships with all Service Users.
  • Engagement with users which may be non verbal.
  • Full involvement in the planning & execution of therapeutic activities.

Overview

Due to complex user needs and a significant increase in the volume of Service Users, Randstad are keen to recruit experienced Support Workers for immediately available contracts. The successful candidates will provide assistance to users within the services of Older People, Dementia or Adult Physical Disability in a day centre environment.

Requirements
  • NISCC registration essential
  • GCSE English and Maths (C or above or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care desirable
  • Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role)
  • Minimum 6-12 months previous Support Work experience essential
  • Immunisation records fully up to date
  • Previous experience within a day centre or residential healthcare setting highly desirable
  • Ability to build rapport

Responsibilities
  • Provide daily assistance to the management team within a Day Centre environment
  • Interact and develop caring & professional relationships with all Service Users

  • Mobility assistance
  • Assisting with meals, feeding and hydration
  • Toileting & personal care if required
  • Basic administration and reporting
