Social Care in Action is proud to support individuals across the Southampton community, helping them stay safe and well.

Our Southampton Living Well (SLW) day care service offers older people the chance to get out of the house, enjoy company, and participate in activities and fun.

We are recruiting for a bank Day Care Assistant (Community Enabler) to cover staff absences and annual leave at our Shirley and Woolston Day Centres.

About You

Are you friendly, compassionate, and dedicated? If so, you might be perfect for our Community Enabler role. You will join a team of carers ensuring our customers receive the support they need.

We value personality and passion over formal education. Caring experience is a plus, but the right attitude and values are most important. You will be supported by your colleagues and the wider Social Care in Action team.

About The Role

The Community Enabler role is varied and no two days are the same. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Providing support and personal care based on individual care plans.
  • Promoting independence, rehabilitation, and engagement in activities.
  • Assisting with daily tasks, medication, and mobility.
  • Helping customers access and participate in SLW sessions with transportation.
  • Facilitating group activities and meals in a safe, inclusive environment.
