Day Activities Coordinator (Disability Care Day Service)

Location: Sawston, Cambridgeshire, CB22

Salary: £19,656 per annum (Pro Rata of £24,570 FTE)

Hours: Part-Time – 30 hours/week (Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm)

Role Overview

As a Day Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering both group and one-to-one activity sessions. You’ll help ensure that each person enjoys meaningful experiences, builds relationships, and lives with greater independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities - Day Activities Coordinator (Disability Care Day Service) -Sawston, Cambridgeshire, CB22

  • Empower individuals to make choices, build independence, and form meaningful relationships.
  • Plan and deliver both group and one-to-one activity sessions tailored to complex needs.
  • Use a variety of communication tools (e.g., Makaton, PECS, social stories) to support engagement and inclusion.
  • Support community access, including attending social events, shopping, cooking, and basic housekeeping tasks.

About You

We’re looking for someone compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic about making a real difference.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to design and deliver engaging, inclusive activities tailored to varied sensory and cognitive needs.
  • Experience working with individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, ideally in a care, SEN, or teaching assistant role. (Desirable)
  • Confidence in using adaptive communication methods, such as Makaton, Picture Exchange (PECS), or sensory tools.(Desirable)
