Job overview

The Nursing and Quality Directorate supports Nursing, Nurse Education, Incident Management, Audit, Complaints Management, Governance, and Risk Management. The Datix team is responsible for implementing all modules of Datix Cloud IQ to replace DatixWeb and ensure compliance with external data submission requirements.

The role involves maintaining the DatixWeb and Datix Rich Client systems during and after implementation, staying updated with NHS England, CQC, and Department of Health guidance. The post holder will be a Datix Risk Management system specialist, working closely with various management teams to optimize data entry, reporting, and adherence to protocols.

Main duties
  • Be the in-house expert for the Datix system, ensuring staff are trained and supported.
  • Manage system maintenance across all modules and coordinate system development and improvements.
  • Support Trust-wide implementation and integration of business information systems.
  • Coordinate external reporting requirements.
  • Manage the Datix contract and user licenses.
  • Contribute to performance targets and manage specific projects.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent with relevant experience and professional development.
  • Postgraduate diploma in ICT or similar qualification.
  • Training in Patient Safety or Risk Management is desirable.
Experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience with NHS Risk Management Systems at System Administrator level.
  • Strong data handling, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Experience in training delivery and presentation skills.
  • Experience with NHS patient record systems and Datix management.
  • Proficiency with Power BI and SPC charts.
Knowledge and Skills
