Job summary

Consult is seeking an experienced Databricks Consultant / Data Engineer to join our client-facing delivery team. You will design, build and optimise data platforms on Databricks, influencing delivery standards and contributing to reusable frameworks and accelerators.

You will work with clients to gather requirements, embed CI/CD and IaC, and deliver cloud data solutions across Azure and AWS. Strong communication and hands-on PySpark/SQL are essential.

Qualifications

• Commercial Databricks delivery experience.
• Strong hands-on PySpark and SQL.
• Solid grounding in data engineering, data modelling and Lakehouse architecture.
• Experience on Azure and/or AWS.
• Source control and CI/CD practices.

Databricks Consultant / Data Engineer

A technology consultancy client of ours is investing heavily in a dedicated Databricks capability. They need an experienced Databricks contractor to join client-facing delivery, work on high-impact programmes and help set the standard for a new practice.

The Role

You’ll work directly with clients to design, build and optimise modern data platforms on Databricks and cloud-native technologies. This goes beyond standard engineering: you’ll influence delivery standards and contribute to reusable frameworks and accelerators.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building production-grade data pipelines with Databricks, PySpark and SQL
• Developing Lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and medallion frameworks
• Gathering requirements and providing technical guidance to client teams
• Embedding CI/CD, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code
• Delivering cloud data solutions across Azure and AWS
• Contributing to internal standards and sharing knowledge across the team
• Modernising legacy data platforms to unlock more value from client data estates

What You’ll Bring

Location
