MCS Group is delighted to be partnering with an industry leader in the food and manufacturing sector, as they seek to add a talented Database Administrator (DBA) to their growing technology team based in Northern Ireland.

As they continue to scale operations and invest heavily in digital transformation, the DBA will play a key role in supporting their enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintain, optimise, and support a range of database systems across the business, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (IT, operations, production) to deliver database solutions that support real-time decision-making and business intelligence.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and security protocols in line with compliance standards.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot complex database issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Support integration of third-party applications and ERP systems with core data infrastructure.

What you need:

  • Experience working as a Database Administrator or in a similar data-focused IT role
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, and database performance tuning
  • Understanding of backup strategies and data security best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and databases in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Experience supporting ERP or manufacturing systems would be a bonus
