Job Description

Database Engineer with SQL Server

Responsible for the development and delivery of new systems to automate and streamline processes required by different departments.

Support the internal IT department with changes and upgrades to software platforms.

Serve as the primary contact for all technical questions related to in-house bespoke systems and interfaces.

Database Support

Support budgeting and financial planning processes for the Finance department, including loading and refreshing data based on requirements.

Understand and modify front-end functionality to amend and change hierarchical structures within the environment.

Debug and analyze errors and anomalies within the Hyperion system as raised by Finance, identifying failure points and correcting issues.

Liaise daily with Finance to ensure the smooth operation of the Hyperion environment.

Build data flows within the SQL environment using SSIS packages.

Risk & Regulatory Duties

Maintain knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements, including the Bank's Risk and Compliance policies, and adhere to these to avoid undue risk exposure.

Report policy/procedure breaches and potential non-compliance areas promptly upon identification, in accordance with the Bank's policies.

Execute all controls within your area accurately to minimize risks of breaches.

Identify new risks or control gaps within your area and escalate them to your Line Manager or Head of Department.

Qualifications/Experience

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SQL programming.

Knowledge and Skills

• Software analysis and design.
• SQL query language.
• Data warehouse design concepts (Inmon or Kimball).

The client is a bank based in the City of London. This is a 2-year FTC position with a salary of circa £65K - £70K.
