Key points: Need Unix/Linux skills with DBA DB2
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator involved in Development, Enhancements, and Production Support.
- Certified IBM DB2 DBA or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in DBA activities like Data Maintenance, Authorization, privileges for DB2 access, Backup, and Recovery.
- Experience in operational 24x7 support, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Result-oriented, customer-focused, with good team relationships.
- 2 years of experience as DB2 DBA on Mainframes.
Skills:
- Operating Systems: Windows XP, Linux, AIX, AWS EC2
- Database: DB2 on open systems
- Database Tools: db2top, db2advise, db2pd, db2dart, db2look, db2support, SPUFI, QMF, QREP
- DB2 Admin tools, Log analyzer
Responsibilities include:
- Providing solutions to application teams.
- Working on logical and physical partitioning databases.
- Data refresh in development regions.
- Involved in DB2 V10 upgrade.
- Quarterly Disaster Recovery activities.
- Database restorations and redirect restorations.
- Backup and recovery in stand-alone and DPF environments.
- Creating databases, tablespaces, tables, views, indexes.
- Supporting Windows applications like Philbert, WinSQL, NLP.
- Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Cataloging mainframe databases for open systems access.
- Resolving user issues, granting/revoking access.
- Working with partitioned tables, materialized query tables, views.
- Performing frequent restorations based on business needs.
- Table space backups and restorations.
- Supporting tools like IBM Data Studio, Rational Manager, IBM Installation Manager.
- Working with Q Replication.
- Incident and change management using HPSM.
