Overview
We are looking for a Data Tutor to work full-time within 3 key areas: teaching, coaching, and content development within our best-in-class Level 4 Data Analyst programme and our Level 3 Data Technician programme.
This role is dedicated to the support and delivery of workshops, delivered between 09:00 - 17:00 GMT. The majority of workshops will be 3.5 or 4.5 hours long (including set-up and wrap-up time), with 8-hour hackathon workshops delivered less frequently throughout the programmes. Infrequently, you may be asked to work outside core UK working hours due to the global nature of Decoded's client base. ?
Accountabilities
As a Data Tutor at Decoded, you are accountable for:
Ensuring your allocated teaching sessions are delivered to a consistently high quality.
Working with the Learner Success Coaches (LSCs) to ensure learners progress through the programme. Each Learner will have the support of an LSC to support them with practical and pastoral guidance.
Responding to and resolving learner enquiries to support them in acquiring the required skills and knowledge throughout their programme.
Supporting content and product development across the Decoded programme curriculums.
Ensuring compliance with programme standards (which may include awarding bodies or organisations such as Ofsted, ESFA, partners, and other authorities) for all procedures associated with teaching, learning and assessment.
Specific Role & Responsibilities
Teaching Decoded workshops:
Delivering effective teaching across various formats, addressing technical challenges efficiently and ensuring timely and smooth execution with a strong grasp of curriculum and standards.
Fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Familiarising yourself with the course structure and content, proactively filling gaps in your knowledge
Contributing to internal training on content and delivery methodologies.
Achieve teaching quality scores that meet or exceed quality indicators
Learner coaching:
Responding to learner queries in a timely and effective way on the Help Centre related to course materials, assignments and projects, for example.
Providing support to learners with the tools and environments used in Decoded programmes.
Creating a safe coaching environment for learners, in relation to safeguarding, e-safety and wellbeing, for example.
Staying up-to-date with the latest trends and the specific tools and technologies covered in Decoded programmes.
Supporting Learner Success to assess evidence from learners on the knowledge, skills and behaviours they are acquiring throughout the programme.
Supporting Learner Success to provide timely feedback on learners’ projects at the end of each module as part of their assessment.
Providing detailed feedback on our content to drive product improvements.
Contribute to the innovation and development of content and technical learning products.
Working closely with Product Developers and Learning Experience Designers to develop curriculum content that meets the expectations and needs of all stakeholders.

A successful candidate will be expected to achieve the following within 3 months:
Confidence to successfully deliver at least 60% of our Apprenticeship workshops
An overall Teacher KPI score of 75%
Autonomous management of well-informed and timely responses to all learner queries on the helpdesk
Who are you?
You are:
A passionate technologist with over 2 years of experience teaching data analytics, data science, computer science, software engineering or similar in a school or university
Confident with basic coding in Python
An excellent and adaptable communicator, verbally and in writing
Self-motivated and a problem solver who takes initiative
Passionate about technology and learning
A team player who is eager to improve our programmes wherever possible and contributes to overall morale
Always keen to learn, improve and stretch your own knowledge, skills and behaviours
Familiar or experienced with Data Science concepts and tools
Team reporting and structure
You will report into the Portfolio Director, in the Product Department.
Day to day
This role can be delivered fully remote within the UK, provided the working location has consistently reliable Wifi for workshop delivery. The Decoded office in London Liverpool Street is available to all Decoded employees for non-workshop delivery work.
Your working hours will be 09:00 - 17:00.

The first stage is a screening call with our People Manager.
The second stage interview is with the Portfolio Director as hiring manager and an Apprenticeship Team panel member. This interview will include a teaching exercise presentation.
The final stage interview is with Decoded’s Chief Product Officer and Decoded’s CEO.
[Salary band: £36-46K]
