Job summary

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) invites applications for a Software Developer Analyst to support data collection and program administration technology across our global Data Toolkits, including CommCare, Power BI, and an Azure data warehouse.

Working with METAL and IT teams, you will analyze requirements, develop tools, ensure data quality and security, and help roll out technology solutions in a dynamic, remote-friendly setting open to candidates in the United Kingdom and Kenya.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in tech to develop and roll out data/tech platforms for programs; at least 3 years in CommCare development for large programs.
• Experience with GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar version control systems.
• Strong in pair programming, code reviews, and high-quality coding practices.
• QA practices: unit, integration and regression testing to ensure production quality.
• Working knowledge of Agile practices and iterative development.
• Clear English communication, both written and verbal, with ability to simplify complex tech concepts.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Data Toolkits in CommCare.
• Design and build PowerBI dashboards linked to live CommCare data.
• Translate requirements into developer tasks with traceability.
• Provide updates and technology insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain data and metadata definitions and documentation.
• Create technical diagrams and implementation manuals.
• Implement data quality processes and development standards.
• Ensure adherence to IRC data protection, confidentiality, and security policies.
• Provide Tier-2/3 support for METAL technology products.
• Deliver training during pilots and rollout with regional teams.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
