Job summary

Nationwide is establishing a new Finance UAT & Enablement team to support large, complex change initiatives, including integration of Virgin Money and major transformation programmes. The role is hands-on, delivery-focused, and involves shaping test coverage and providing high-quality evidence in a regulated environment.

You will work with SMEs and business users, handling data-rich testing and ensuring solutions meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Technical skills in data analysis/validation and automation scripting.

Job description

We are establishing a new Finance UAT & Enablement team to support the delivery of large, complex Finance change initiatives, including the integration of Virgin Money and major transformation programmes.

This role is hands-on and delivery focused, with opportunities to shape test coverage and contribute to improving how we approach testing.

This role is ideal for a tester who enjoys working closely with business users, handling data-rich testing, and delivering high-quality evidence in a regulated environment.

The working hours (per week) for this role can be between 30 and 35 hours.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, London, Northampton, Bournemouth or Glasgow office. If you're based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. What you'll be doing

Working with SMEs and delivery teams, you'll build a clear understanding of business processes and testing requirements. You'll also scope and design test cases aligned to requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and carry out functional and regression testing across change activity.

Additionally, you'll support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), helping ensure solutions meet business needs. As issues arise, you'll identify, log and track defects, working closely with teams to resolve them. You'll also provide clear, timely updates on testing progress, contributing to an accurate view of overall delivery status.

About you

Minimum requirements for this role are:

• You are comfortable working with data-heavy test scenarios
• Good SQL experience - including writing complex, production-quality queries using joins, subqueries and data reconciliation techniques
• Technical skills covering data analysis / validation and automation / scripting
• Advanced Excel skills, including the use of functions such as XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot, etc.
• The ability to translate business requirements into clear and effective test scenarios
• Experience working with SMEs and non-technical stakeholders
