Job Description

This full-time post is based in Penryn, Cornwall, available immediately on a fixed-term basis funded by grant income until 31 March 2025, with potential for extension depending on future plans for the Geo-resources cluster. The role offers hybrid working—some time on campus, at local company offices, and occasionally from home.

Summary of the role

The post is within the Exeter Innovation division, working closely with colleagues in the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy, including the Business School. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with the University of Exeter and partners Konnect for Business on a major project funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall, focusing on helping organizations understand and reduce their environmental impact. Building on the University’s renowned climate expertise, the role primarily involves leading data and information related to clients' CO2 emissions.

The Data Technician will:

  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of collected data
  • Manage and collate data for diverse interpretative needs

Key responsibilities include developing and improving emissions data collection templates, ensuring data realism and accuracy, developing estimation methods where appropriate, and collating data in an understandable manner.
