Job Summary

Are you experienced in data management, environmental monitoring, or water quality systems? This could be your opportunity to take the next step as a Data Team Leader, supporting the delivery of high‑quality water quality monitoring across SOCOTEC’s Monitoring & Surveying Division.

As SOCOTEC grows, we’re looking for a motivated and organised Data Team Leader to oversee our Water Quality data team, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable monitoring outputs across multiple projects and locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily water quality data reporting from instrumentation including sondes, river flow monitors, and rain gauges.
• Coordinate and manage an offshore (Vietnam-based) team carrying out overnight site checks and maintenance verification.
• Ensure all sites are checked daily and any data issues, anomalies, or equipment faults are escalated promptly.
• Monitor performance against the 72‑hour maintenance KPI and escalating issues where required.
• Support Data Analysts to deliver accurate, timely, and high‑quality outputs.
• Ensure customer SLAs and internal KPIs are consistently met.
• Produce water quality reports to client and regulatory specifications.
• Support training, coaching, and development of team members.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, productivity, and data quality.
• Liaise with Project Managers, clients, and operational teams to resolve queries efficiently.
• Maintain team motivation and performance across a geographically dispersed workforce.

Qualifications

• Experience in water quality monitoring, telemetry systems, or environmental data management.
• Strong understanding of water quality parameters and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage or coordinate teams, including remote or offshore teams.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels and locations.
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency or familiarity with data platforms such as Blue Trust Monitoring and HydroSphere (desirable).
• Knowledge of water industry instrumentation (e.g. sondes, AquaHawk systems) (desirable).
