Where you'll be working
Here in the Finance function, we make sure we spend our customers money wisely, to maximum their benefit. As a function, we are made up of diverse individuals, skills and capabilities that enable us to provide financial partnering services, produce statutory and regulatory reporting, raise wholesale funds & maintain liquidity.We provide lending for social housing, create and deliver a financial plan, manage stress testing requirements, provide and maintain financial systems & technology, and drive the development of our Society Strategy.

What you'll be doing on the Finance Systems Data & Change Industrial Placement
The role will deliver requested business change in response to regulatory changes to reporting, new business activity and propositions, and to deliver process enhancements such as increased efficiencies across a variety of platforms as part of the Reporting Systems Team.
You'll gain access to a bespoke 12-month project aligned to our Social Impact strategy to develop core business skills, providing opportunities to learn new skills and apply them in a different context to your day job. You'll build a community and work alongside a range of diverse like‑hearted Industrial Placements from across the organisation.

The ability to analyse data and information to problem solve to identify challenges and propose solutions.
Through research and experience, you'll have commercial awareness of Nationwide Building Society and the Financial Services industry.
Knowledge and interest in a coding language (e.g. VBA, SAS, Python)
An inquisitive mind and an aptitude for problem solving.
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Relish working in a team to learn from others and expand the teams mindset.
Strong organisational skills to plan and deliver work with attention to detail.
Determination and drive to make a difference.
Good time management and prioritisation skills for working in a fast paced environment.
You want to get involved in activities across the Finance department, such as working with our recognition team or Network and Knowledge events.
Eligibility: You must be studying towards an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
