Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Endurance trackside experience (WEC/ELMS/Asian LMS/Formula 1/Formula E, etc.) is highly recommended.
  • Solid knowledge of LMP-style cars is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage activities related to data, IHM, and reliability of the car.
  • Calibrate sensors, manage energy and fuel aspects during races.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers on performance analysis.

As part of the Alpine long-term plan to compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), we are looking to add talented individuals to our team who are motivated to contribute significantly to our relentless pursuit of excellence.

Within the Trackside Engineering Team, we have a rare opportunity for a Senior Performance Engineer.

Data System Engineer - The Role

Reporting to the Head of Trackside Engineering, the Data System Engineer will manage all activities related to data, IHM (interface human-machine), and the global reliability of the car. The role involves working with mechanics on sensor calibration, EBS bleeding, and other processes. During races, the engineer manages energy and fuel aspects and is responsible for fuel capacity and weight management.

Data System Engineer - The Person

The successful candidate will hold an engineering or relevant degree and have a strong understanding of system and racing car functions. They should be proficient with data software and have some programming knowledge to automate analysis tools. The candidate will work directly with engineers on one car and must handle the pressure of racing well.

Additional qualities include:

  • Good knowledge of software used within Alpine Endurance Team, such as HHDM, MM Wintax & Sysma, MATLAB, VBA (advantageous)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Endurance trackside experience (WEC/ELMS/Asian LMS/Formula 1/Formula E, etc.) is highly recommended
  • Solid knowledge of LMP-style cars is essential
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus
