Job summary

Greater London Authority is seeking a Data Business Partner to act as a trusted advisor on the Data for London programme. You will own and cultivate relationships with internal partners across the organisation and drive governance and ethics guidelines.

You will work with directorate leaders to provide strategic data advice, insight and support, balancing end-user needs with policy objectives. The role also involves developing the Data for London platform and building data pipelines using Python.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar digital or data-related role in a public sector or large organisation.
• Ability to provide credible professional advice and innovative solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Experience implementing improvements to people systems and processes, including in Python.
• Ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical senior stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of data management principles including governance, analytics and privacy.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Experience in project management and handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with directors and senior managers as a strategic partner.
• Act as the primary contact for Data for London partner projects and manage expectations.
• Provide high-quality strategic data advice, direction and insight to balance user needs with policy objectives.
• Support the Data for London platform development and build data pipelines in Python where required.
• Lead secretariat support for governance groups and coordinate meetings and decisions.
