The Opportunity

Capco’s global Data Practice team enables financial institutions to become data-driven by transforming their understanding, management, storage, and use of data to derive value. Our team collaborates with clients to formulate focused, actionable data strategies that deliver sustainable business outcomes. We design, implement, and mobilize innovative data capabilities with a focus on efficiency and scalability, partnering with vendors and industry bodies.

We architect and engineer modern data platforms and curated data products, emphasizing automation and data management by design. We embed these capabilities in business-as-usual processes and lead the design and implementation of next-generation data platforms across the industry.

Your Role

You’ll join Capco’s Data Strategy & Advisory team as a Data Strategy and Transformation Consultant, using your data expertise to formulate effective data strategies for clients. Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the definition of client data strategies, including vision, objectives, and OKRs
• Assessing client data capabilities through maturity models
• Facilitating interviews and workshops to identify pain points and link them to data capabilities
• Developing data strategy business cases and strategic roadmaps
• Reviewing and recommending improvements for existing data processes, tooling, and governance
• Supporting the definition of data Target Operating Models, policies, standards, and guidelines
• Advising on data architecture reviews and solutions

You will also help develop Capco’s Data Strategy & Advisory capabilities, including business development, research, methodology development, and training.

Your Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, problem-solving skills, and experience in:

• At least 3 years in Data Strategy and/or Data Management
• Understanding of Data Strategy, Management, and Analytics principles, and familiarity with methodologies like DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, CDMC
• Experience in maturity assessments, strategic planning, process documentation, and governance design
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Experience working in demanding environments and managing projects

Preferred qualifications include consulting experience at a top-tier firm, a background in financial services, hands-on data tooling experience, knowledge of industry regulations, certifications, and team management experience.
