The Knowledge Transfer Network Limited is seeking a Data Solutions Architect/Data Scientist as a KTP Associate to enhance data capabilities at Lifelink, a major mental health service provider in Scotland. This role involves developing innovative tools and optimising data processes to improve service delivery and insights using advanced analytics.
The aim of the project is to exploit the rich pool of historical data currently held by Lifelink by consolidating data from multiple sources into a centralised data warehouse, developing tools to interrogate this warehouse to enable automated reporting and integrated scheduling, and use advanced analytics and data science techniques to provide operational efficiencies and enhanced service insight. The main phases of the project will involve: familiarisation with Lifelink’s business, platforms, data sources and current reporting requirements; creation of a data warehouse and integration of existing data sources to form the basis for subsequent project phases; streamlining of reporting requirements; investigation and deployment of optimisation strategies to enable resource scheduling (appointments, locations etc.); development of tools (ranging from database queries to training ML models) to allow users to explore and exploit Lifelink’s historical data; extending the ML models (and looking at LLMs) to handle unstructured data and support the identification of emerging trends. The KTP Associate will work closely with internal teams, technical partners, and academic experts to create tools that support data-driven decision-making, improve resource allocation, and personalise service delivery across Lifelink’s mental health and wellbeing programmes.
To embed an innovative digital platform capability for the integration, digitisation, and automation of Lifelink’s diverse data sources, to enhance operational efficiency, and support the provision of evidence-based insights for strategic planning and improved mental health service delivery.
Lifelink is one of the largest 3rd sector mental health and wellbeing service providers in Scotland and provides the only NHS outsourced support service of its kind in Scotland. Lifelink recognises that by better understanding service users (who access services, their service use/needs), Lifelink can gain insights to support service optimisation, predict future needs, tailor offerings, and improve operational efficiency.
